THE BIG PICTURE IN MIND

From the start, we keep exploitation on several platforms in mind: home entertainment, television, and online platforms. This saves time and money.

SUBTITLES FOR COMPANIES AND ADMINISTRATIVE BODIES

We support you and your company when it comes to accessibility.

Precision, perfect timing, optimal legibility

No Limits Media offers you the skilful implementation as well as a successful translation and cultural transmission.

Any questions?

Subtitles facilitate an immersive experience for the audience. Whether it be for the original version with subtitles in another language or subtitles for the purposes of accessibility, there are numerous quality characteristics that require special attention in the process. Exact timing, optimal readability, and the quality of the translation demonstrate whether professionals were at work.

With the evolution of new media, the challenges of technical implementation are also growing. No Limits Media is always up to speed, something our clients value.

Our work on your project is quick and reliable. We’re also very flexible when it comes to express orders.

With around 30 permanent employees and a large number of freelancers, we are one of the few providers on the German market able to handle large volumes quickly and reliably.

SUBTITLES FOR THE MOVIE THEATER, FESTIVALS, AND MORE

No Limits Media has been creating subtitles for feature films in a wide range of languages for many years, and closed captions too.

Whether you’d like to release your film in theaters or submit it to film festivals, we pay attention to the varying and specific requirements and guidelines, such as those of individual film festivals, and know what to look out for when it comes to subtitles.

Furthermore, we bear your concerns in mind and are mindful of multiple exploitation from the start: home entertainment, television, and internet platforms. Because an overall assessment at the start saves time and money at the end. Talk to us about your projects.

SUBTITLES FOR COMPANIES AND ADMINISTRATIVE BODIES

While presentation and linguistic diversity is at the fore for companies, administrative bodies are placing special emphasis on the aspect of accessibility.

But companies are also increasingly turning to accessibility, taking responsibility, and not wanting to exclude people with hearing impairments.

Over the last few years in particular, we’ve registered rapidly growing demand in this area.

INTERLINGUAL SUBTITLES (OMU - ORIGINAL VERSION WITH SUBTITLES)

In contrast to dubbing, when you watch a film in the original with subtitles, you hear the original soundtrack. Here, the subtitles in the desired language are displayed in sync with the film’s dialogue. Fans of subtitled foreign language films are often also proficient in the film’s original language, which means the subtitles are under close scrutiny for the entire length of the film.

Good subtitles always depend on precision, perfect timing, and optima readability. No Limits Media provides you with skillful implementation, as well as a successful translation and cultural transfer. From the film’s original language into one or more target languages.

No Limits Media can realize a multitude of language combinations for you. As this requires the highest level of linguistic and cultural competence, we have established a network of certified and trained native speakers. Our employees’ work passes through stringent checks prior to collaboration.

No Limits Media bases its work on the internationally recognized Code of Good Subtitling Practice of the European Association for Studies in Screen Translation

SUBTITLES FOR THE DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING (SDH)

In Germany, around 16% of the adult population is hearing impaired (April 2018) (source: www.wikipedia.org)

According to the UN’s Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the Federal Participation Act (Bundesteilhabegesetz), media must now be designed to be accessible. For the deaf and hard of hearing, this means that unrestricted access to content is facilitated through, for instance, subtitles and/or sign language.

This pertains to all media. So not only to television broadcasters, but also websites, those with an online presence, streaming portals, and the entire scope of home entertainment. The new State Treaty on Media (Medienstaatsvertrag), obliges providers to gradually increase their offerings in terms of accessibility. Online providers with more than 20,000 followers must provide accessible content.

Conventional subtitles (Original Version with subtitles – OmU), are not sufficient:

Subtitles for the deaf and hard of hearing do not just incorporate dialogue, they also identify the speaker, as well as render descriptions of background sounds and music.

Our team at No Limits Media can look back on many years of experience creating subtitles for people with hearing impairments, through close cooperation with broadcasting corporations, associations, and training institutes. We’re also always up to date with changing requirements and guidelines.
